If we spread N7,000 for the weekly stakes (i.e N1,000 per ticket):

Each won ticket: N1,000 x 2 odds = N2,000

5 days won tickets: N2,000 x 5 days = N10,000

Our profits will be: N10,000 - N7,000 = N3,000

Profit ratings in %:

1.Positions of the teams on their league tables: If the teams involves are from the same league and the same division, it's advisable that you consider their positions on their league tables before placing your bet. The tables of various leagues are very important, because they reveals more things about the league. An example of a league table has been uploaded in the image below:

Some information that can be found on a typical league table includes:

*Positions of the indi vidual teams

*Summary of their recent matches (usually six last matches)

*Total Goals scored in the season (tournament)

*Total goals conceded in the tournament 

*Summary of the goal difference (Goals scored minus goals conceded)

All these data found on the league table are useful tools for good prediction. From the table, you can know the top performing teams and the teams that are struggling in the league. Always look at the league table when predicting your matches.

2.Head to head matches (H2H). When two teams meet for a match, it is also called head to head. In most cases, the teams that are playing a match might have met previously, such matches are known as 'head to head matches'. There are some teams that always draw when they meet. Also, the home teams always wins in some leagues. the same thing happens to the away team. As a dilligent predictor, always take this trends into consideration.

3.Recent Matches: Taking a careful look at the current matches played by the team's involved can help you make a good choice. This will reveal to you the "CURRENT FORMS" of the teams. A team that is in current form will always be a good pick for your ticket. This is always important when betting on a match that involves teams from different leagues or country. For example, tournaments like Champions league, Europa leagues, world cup and other international tournaments.

4. Current Trends: Recent happenings in a league can also be considered when predicting matches. For example, there are teams that may be on unbeaten streaks. There are also teams that may be on home winning streaks and so on.

5.General statistics of the home teams . Although it may be argued, statistics have shown that most leagues matches ends as home Win. Few things that may be responsible for home teams having advantages in a match includes the following: 

*Fans and Crowd Support: Fans can motivate the home team and create a nervous atmosphere for the visiting team, potentially influencing referee decisions. The massive support from the home fans can also motivate and elevate the morales of the home teams. 

*Adequate knowlegde of the venue: Home teams are more comfortable with the venue, including its dimensions and the field conditions. This familiarities' helps the home teams to have advantage over the away teams. 

*Referee Decisions: Although the referees strive for objectivity, there's evidence suggesting they might subconsciously favor the home team. Fear of the chanting from the crowded fans can also put the referee under pressure and make him favour the home teams during his officiating.

*Traveling Fatigue: Away teams often experience the physical and mental strain of traveling to the home venue, which can affect and impact their performance on the field.

6.The odds of the match . The odds are the value of the outcomes as calculated and represented by the bookmakers. Odds are the ratio of the full payout to the stake,  mostly written in  decimal format. Odds given to the teams can give you an hint about the strengths of the teams involved. This is because bookers always gives smaller odds to the stronger team and bigger odd to the weaker team.

Always consider the trading odds, because in betting, the odds are the most important thing we consider each time we want to trade. Odds represent the price and value placed on that option by the bookmakers. They are the probability ratios calculated by the bookmakers. 

As a guide, always know that smaller odds are given to the favorite outcomes. What I mean is that the bookmakers give smaller odds to outcomes with higher possibilities, but give bigger odds to outcomes with lower possibilities. For example, if the odds allocated in a match are as follows:

Home win (1) = 1.50

Draw (x) = 4.60

Away Win (2) = 6.30

At a glance, you can quickly tell that the home option has the higher possibility of becoming the full-time outcome. It is followed by the draw option, while the away to win option has the lower possibility.

So, the easier outcome, the lower the odds. And the harder the outcome, the higher the odds. Although this estimated value by the bookmakers does not always become the outcome, they have proven to have accuracy of 70% possibilities.

Although I have said that smaller odds reveals higher outcome possibilities, you should always lookout for value-bets when trading. A value bet is a bet where you believe that the odds of an event happening are greater than the odds offered by the bookmaker. In such cases, you can take advantage of your knowledge and trade wisely.

For example, I was once lucky to sight a value-bet where “Paok Salonika” of Greece was given 9+odds when playing against a less stronger team in their division. I quietly double-chanced it and got 3+odds, then I staked on it with confidence. The match ended in a 1:1 draw, and I won my bet.

That was a value bet and I believe that the bookmakers made a mistake. Cases like that happen everyday, but the bookmakers quickly correct their books. These are the major reasons for odds dropping and rising on fixtures.

DRAW (X)

A draw in a match means that neither the home team nor the away team will win the match. This outcome can occur in first half or full time. The odds for full time draws are always greater than that of half time. 

Draw matches that involves goals(example; 1:1, 2:2, 3:3, 4:4) are known as "Score Draws" while those that do not involve goals (example; 0:0) is known as "No Score Draw" .A win from either home or away team causes this slip to be lost, If you place your bet to end as full time draw.

Here are some things to consider when predicting a match as Draw.

1.Leagues involves. Research and statistics have shown that draw occurrence are higher in some leagues than others. You can take advantage of this information in making your predictions. You look at leagues like Paraguay, Honduras, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, USA, Iran, Egypt, etc.

2. Low Scoring Leagues: Leagues that have low scoring potentials, have higher changes of draw occurences than the leagues that have high scoring potentials. For example, draws are fewer in Australians leagues than in Argentine leagues.

3. Teams that have equal strenghts: Looking at the league tables, you will see teams that are closer to each other on the league. Draws are most likely to occur when teams with closer strenghts come head to head.

4. Home or away team: When the stronger team is at away, the possibilities of having a draw result is also higher than when the stronger team is at home.

AWAY WIN (2)

The second team is known as the away team. From the match given above between Chelsea and  Man City, the second team, being Man City is the Away team, usually indicated as two (2).

A win to home team or a draw result makes this prediction lost. The away team MUST win for you to win the bet.

2. Recent forms of teams involved.

3. Head to head (past and recent meetings).
